Right in this second, I'd like to have an iPad

I'm currently lying in bed with a cup of coffee and a 12" Windows notebook next to me, reading my subscriptions in Google Reader. This is what I call a nice Sunday morning. On some mornings like this, I skip the notebook and get my dose of news and analysis on my iPhone instead.

But to be honest, neither solutions are optimal. While the iPhone is simply a little bit too small for extensive reading or video streaming sessions, a notebook is too clunky, taking longer time to boot up and making too much noise when hitting the keys, waking up my girl friend who is still sleeping.

So what would be the perfect device for my purpose? You know where I'm heading... This is where I could see myself using the iPad. As a convenient solution for accessing digital content (mainly text and video) in situations when neither the notebook nor the smartphone are the best choice.

Does it mean I will buy an iPad? Does it mean I will ignore the iPad's shortcomings, like lack of flash support or multitasking? I don't know yet. But what I know is that there are occasions when I'm in the need of something like a big iPhone. If that happens often enough to jusitfy the purchase of yet another digital device remains to be seen. Luckily, I have some weeks left for evaluation.
